Ms. Christine Bauer
Early Childhood Trainer, MDN
(Kindergarten Teacher and Photographer/ Vienna, Austria)
My name is Christine Bauer. I was born in Linz / Austria and currently resides in Vienna, Austria.
I work as a photographer and kindergarten teacher. Working with children is a great honor – we experience a lot together and the joy and liveliness of children is a pleasure. It is exciting to participate in their step-by-step exploration into the world.
I love nature because it presents us with so much beauty and joy! I´m grateful to have the opportunity to go out with the camera to take pictures of people and landscape.
When I had the opportunity to visit Nepal, Martina Haiboeck (Program Director) from Make a Difference Nepal suggested if I would like to volunteer to share my Austrian teaching experiences with the children of Gorkha, Nepal. I was thrilled to hear about it. Without any hesitation I accepted the offer and I considered it as one of the life time opportunities.
I stayed in this beautiful country for two months, the friendliness of the Thapa family helped me from the first steps in Kathmandu to feel welcomed. The mountains, the villages, the rich culture of Nepal – I was overwhelmed and touched by this country and its people.
Getting to know the difficulties of Nepalese children to grow up in a safe environment and struggle to create better opportunities for future touched my heart. Therefore, I decided to continue my support as Early Childhood Trainer with Make a Difference Nepal. I know that it is possible to make a change in a life – Together we can do it!
